Vegetate is located in the Historic Shaw neighborhood in northwest Washington, DC. Our location is central and convenient, surrounded by the Washington Convention Center three blocks south, Mount Vernon Square two blocks east, Logan Circle three blocks west, and the U street corridor five blocks north.
Vegetate believes in using the best possible ingredients from local and regional farms, purveyors and businesses. We also work with small, family and independently-owned businesses, which ensures that we know exactly where your food and drinks come from. This also means that our menu changes often depending on the seasonality of produce and these products.
DIRECTIONS
We encourage people to use public transportation to get to Vegetate for a variety of reasons, though most immediately parking is very limited; and we are located directly in between two metro stops. North of us is the Shaw/Howard stop on the green line; from there walk one block west to 9th street, then three blocks south to 1414. South of us is the Mt. Vernon Square/Convention Center stop on the yellow or green line; from there walk west to 9th street through the Convention Center underpass, then three blocks north to 1414. You can also use the new DC Circulator bus, which stops across the street at 9th and O.
If you are driving to Vegetate we ask you to be respectful of our neighbors in the Shaw community as you walk to and from your cars.
HOURS/RESERVATIONS
Our hours are Monday through Saturday 6-10pm. We are closed on Sunday. We offer a three-course fixed priced option for $25.00 Monday-Friday from 6-7pm.

Gratuity of 20% will be automatically added to parties of 6 or more and please no split checks. Vegetate will only accept a maximum of 2 credit cards per table.
Private Dining Room
Most parties of 8 or more people are seated in our third floor dining room, which seats up to 14 people. There is a minimum of $30 per person; and a credit card is required to hold the reservation. You may make a reservation for our private dining room online, but please call 202-232-4585 to discuss any special menu options or requests. Please note that any changes or cancellations in the private dining room must be made at least 24 hours in
advance otherwise you will be charged the per person fee based on the number of people in your original reservation.
If you have more than 14, call us to discuss private party options or buyouts.
You may bring a cake for birthdays or other occasions, a $3 per plate fee will automatically be added to your bill. Our corkage fee is $15 per bottle.
